I would like for the ability to specify the colors to use for the various song parts (verse, chorus, pre-chorus, intro, outro, break, etc.). For example, I may wish to mimic the colors of the song track song parts in the Toontrack EZ series of products.
Thanks, noted!
Hey → Edit: Why make it complex, we could just have an option to use these colors, so you wouldn’t have to set it manually, better, right?
Can you share a screenshot of the parts and colors, then we can get them in there.
Anyone else: if you have a specific color set, paste an image of the parts with names and colors below.
Thanks,
Frits
Oh, thanks. I had hoped they had set up defaults, so we would just “accept their color scheme”… Hmm… I think it’d be great if there was something “universal”… and IMHO if nobody else has decided “universal” colors, then - just like ArrangerKing has decided at least default *) SHAPES and NAMES - then why not just dictate COLORS as well?
It’s not a problem to add your scheme as an option, and it’s not a problem to add like a color wheel etc so users can set up their own… I just think that too many choices very easily can be a step backwards, so “setting up ArrangerKing” in itself starts to be a task that then takes away time and focus from exactly where we want to not take it…
I’d rather have a FAST tool and live with the cons than a PERFECT system and live with it being slow… because that’s exactly what we’re trying to fix
Your input?
*) We are already drifting away in the next versions, offering custom shapes and naming… And I dont like it! I want an universal language, like nodes etc.
Hmm… Now when I look at their official images (I dont have the products, sorry) it appears that the colors you show ARE in fact the same as what they have, so these are not “user defined colors”, the top ones?
I’ll try and write to them, perhaps we shoudl cooperate
@tonedef71 I have contacted them, see PM
Hello @fritslyneborg:
The first eight colors I shared are the standard colors for Toontrack EZ Keys, EZDrummer, and EZBass. They might be all of the same colors in Toontrack Superior Drummer, but I’m not sure.
The last four, the User Song Parts, were added by me to my EZDrummer.

OK, thanks.
As you know I have written to them - if we are lucky they havent lost their agility and are up for some cooperation, we will see
I just realized however, that their “default part types” arent matching up with … well honestly they havent nailed things as I thought they had, because I saw they have 8 part types - which is right, but then they have been rather sloppy IMHO on the last ones, and then on top of it added the ability for the user to add extras… it’s 80% there, but we wont be able to make a 1:1 match unfortunately… I’ll see if they answer, and if not, I’ll keep “custom colors” as a ticket.
“Outro & Ending”? Such a shame, they had it almost
@fritslyneborg I believe that the song parts in Toontrack’s EZ series of products are drum-centric, because EZDrummer predates EZkeys by six years and predates EZBass by fourteen years.
Another virtual drummer product I own a license for, Jamstix, recognizes the following drum-centric song parts:
M, D, S, L and T are product specific, or I don’t know what - too granular for actual arrangement purpose: They’re variations of same thing and should not be named individually… but I guess when they differ between “middle, breakdown and drum solo”, it’s clear that they’re focused on those drums, let’s give them a bigger place than verse, more names for places you can play drums
Thanks for sharing
