Categories don't seem to work the way I expect them to

I seem to have the same arrangements appearing in all categories so I’m not quite sure of what the categories are. Also, when I import an arrangement, does it then appear in the SAME category that happened to be active at the time of the import? Is there a way to change the category of an arrangement once it has been imported?

Is there a way to add NEW categories? For example, I create music for short videos that often form the same types of structures which is what makes what you’ve created so great!

Also, is there a reason why you haven’t included the artist name in all the arrangements when applicable? Would make checking out the source a lot easier.

Many thanks!

Please help! Thanks!

I see now that they are not “Categories” as such, but rather “Genres” and that only the names for the various sections changes. I see a certain logic to this. That said, it might be helpful to actually have real categories for the various arrangements because as the list grows, it will be better organize. Similarly, user created categories would be helpful if you do this.

Thanks for the feedback and the self-catch

I am aware that i had to take some choises in the system design, and in order to win some new functionality and optimize for certain understandings and workflows, others had to be sacrificed. I’ts choise and design, and how ArrangerKing is based on some new principles rather than offering “locked templates”.

And on here:

where it says, quote:

Are you missing examples or templates for a specific genre?

Try and think of a synthesizer that comes with a preset named “House lead stab”, that may sound like a famous stab in a song. This does not mean that you cannot use that sound or synthesizer in an ambient or rock track, the name and reference is just inspiration.

In ArrangerKing you “transfer” arrangements to other styles just by changing the naming convention with a click: No template is locked to a style, 8 bars are 8 bars no matter the genre, and you can just as well make your own templates from scratch.

The examples are for inspiration, fast track to get you going and education in how songs across genres are arranged. Feel free to post requests for more examples in the forum. Make sure you learn how to make or rip your own favourite tracks: Its easy and fun, look in the manual
