Sorry but having lots or problems with ArrangerKing in Logic 11.1.2. (Sequoia).

The playhead just randomly stops tracking the DAW playhead in your window. There is no clear reason for it.

Also, if I move the playhead around the timeline, again, the playhead in ArrangerKing just stops.

Hi, I’m sorry for the trouble. The issue is that Logic for unknown reasons (as the only DAW) is not sending playhead position to plugins if there’s no audio on the track.

Personally I think it’s a bug in Logic, and I think you should report it (I already have, of course).

For that reason, if you read in the manual for Logic and ArrangerKing, it says, and read carefully:

“Press Play in Logic Pro and if Logic Pro is playing any audio the red Playhead Marker in ArrangerKing will move from left to right.”

I’m sorry, but a plugin with no information from the host cannot do anything about it, it’s how Logic is designed. Users have found that knowing this, it’s noit really a problem, which is probably why it’s not being fixed.

What is interesting to me is that ArrangerKing itself can place fake “audio” in its main track (through the drag and drop feature) that shows the song structure in the timeline. Does this not work? I guess I can always just create a track with audio on it that is hidden and pulled from the mix as a workaround but it seems like if ArrangerKing instead did this with your guide track it might solve the problem using the guidetrack itself.

If it stops when you reposition too, try the same project with an audio region playing on the track that hosts ArrangerKing. That should help confirm whether this is Logic withholding the playhead update when the track has no audio.
